Need Help Regarding Online Gaming

Hi there, I am a new BitDefender Total Security 2009 user. The issue which I have with this programme is that I cannot play online games with Bitdefender on.

To be specific, games which are protected by GameGuard, which is a software used by online gaming companies to protect their games from hackers. With Bitdefender on, I am not able to access the games as error 114 of Gameguard keeps appearing, this is even after turning "Game mode on".

I used to be a Norton 2005 antivirus user, and with Norton previously, I did not have such problems.

Any idea how can I fix this problem?

Hello mapler,

Version 2009 isn't officially released yet. The latest official version is 2008. It's obvious that you didn't have issues with Norton Antivirus because there wasn't a firewall included. Be sure that you have disabled the windows firewall. I also recommend that you check this topic and run the Norton removal tool.

Right click on the red BitDefender icon near the system tray press on open advanced settings. Go to the firewall section. Press on the traffic tab. After you have done that press on the add button.(the folder icon with an +)

You need to press on browse and navigate further to the installation directory off the game and select the main game executable for example lineage.exe by select action choose trusted press on ok. You need to redo the steps for all files located here: C:\Program Files\name off the game\system\ and

C:\Program Files\name off the game\system\GameGuard\
