Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2016 Stops Me From Deleting Programs

I have Bitdefender Antivirus Plus 2016 and am generally happy.
I run Windows 10 and it is up to date as of Aug 21 2016
Attempted to load irfanview and it's plugins. Inadvertently messed up the place to load both. Went to windows program delete function to delete both so I can reinstall.
Bitdefender will not let windows access what it needs to do to delete the irfanview programs.
is there a way to tell bitdefender to let me delete programs? if so how do I do that.
Help is much appreciated.
