Novice Profile/Autopilot Questions

Just purchased BIS.

1) Noticed if I uncheck/turn off autopilot on app main window it still remains checked when I look in Modules/Tools/Profiles. Why do they not match? Is it on or off?

2) Real-Time Optimization is unchecked by default. Would I be better protected with it on?

3) Once Autopilot is off, do I manually set Work, Movie Game profiles as I need them? What exactly is 'standard'?

As a novice I appreciate the auto mode but would like some notifications of potential threats or other important issues. what would be my ideal settings?

It is Bitdefender Internet Security 2016. Downloaded and installed on Monday. It is currently installed on a home PC. Will check exact version tonight.

Well, since I posted a week ago I've updated to the 2017 version.

So, what exactly is the difference between Paranoid mode and just unchecking Autopilot Mode?

The paranoid mode offers more details and control over the machine rather than just disabling the autopilot.
