Cannot active new licence

I bought a new licence from Amazon for Total Security 2015, the version I'm currently using. The seller emailed me what I thought was the key but when I enter this into the registation screen in Bit Defender it says this is a redeem key and suggests I enter that on BD's website to get the licence key. When I do that it says "This is not a valid redeem code. Go back and try again".


In My Subscriptions I entered the redeem key and downloaded the installer but I don't need to install anything because I'm already using Total Security. How/where do I get my licence key?
