Periodic High Disk Activity Locking Up Systems

Hi,

I have 3 licensed copies installed on 3 different machines, I have no other anitvirus or anti spyware software installed. They are all Win xp systems with the latest updates. Periodically the disk activity goes way up and basically stops anything from running and the system grinds to a halt. The file zone turns solid green and basically I can't do anything until it stops. If I run task manager it shows that the only process that is grabbing time besides the idle process is the vsserv process. I am getting frustrated by these lockups and I would like them to stop. I am getting to the last straw on this, if I need to file a support topic then I will.

Thanks,

Alan

What version of BitDefender do you have installed ?

  • You can customize the Real-Time Protection level to suit your need. e.g You could untick scan HTTP traffic, and tick only scan executable files.
