Rescue Disk build 225 - Hangs with BGRT message

I am attempting to scan a Toshiba laptop, which had not been patched for two years.  I have tried every version of the rescue CD since 2013.  I am getting the following results...

• 
  When booting in English, boot process stops with message  Ignoring BGRT: invalid status 0 (expected 1) (all versions)
  
• 
  When booting in Troubleshooting mode, boot process stops with ACPI message (all versions)
  

I found a thread where someone suggested using the "nomodeset" option in build 218, but that failed as well.

When these messages have occurred, I have allowed as much as 12 hours to allow for the "slow boot" when these messages appear, but I have never been able to get to the point where I can actually scan the system.

Does anyone have any idea what boot options can be set to make this rescue disk boot reliably?  I've used BitDefender before for this purpose with great success.  I just cannot get it to work now.
