Please ensure you remove any security solutions you have on the machine to avoid a conflict.
I would also advise a clean reinstall. First removing the product using the uninstall tool, afterwards reinstalling from Central to ensure you download the latest Agent.

Hello there, I have an update problem also. I'm using Bitdefender Total security. I get a notification for update, if I click the update button there is an error, check your internet connection & try again. But internet connection is available and my bandwidth speed is 3mbps. Thanks in advance.

Do you have any installed av on your machine aside from BD?
If you have, I would suggest removing it.
If the problem still persists, try uninstalling it using the uninstall tool : http://www.bitdefender.com/files/KnowledgeBase/file/Bitdefender_2017_UninstallTool.exe
and go to central to reinstall the product.
