Two copies of bitdefender installed + bidefender agent acting strangely

I'm concerned about this mostly because it started happening the same day that I accidentally went to a sketchy website (it had pop-ups, I immediately closed the pop-ups and the site but I'm still worried that it may have infected my computer.) For some reason my computer is saying that I have multiple antivirus installed even though I only have one copy of bitdefender (see screenshots). This has never happened before. Yesterday, I uninstalled bitdefender and reinstalled it (although after I uninstalled it, bitdefender agent was still there and I had to separately uninstall it from the programs and features list. It came back once the program was reinstalled) and it was back to normal, with only one copy of bitdefender listed, until today, I turned on my computer and there were two there again. Why is this happening, is it dangerous, and how do I get rid on it without having to delete bitdefender altogether? (I do not want to have to use a different antivirus.) I just downloaded Malwarebytes and ran a full scan, (after the issue returned. I don't intend to keep using it as an antivirus since it's just the free trial) and it did not detect any malware but I'm still very concerned that something is wrong.

  • Hi,

What do you see in the Control Panel > Add/Remove programs section ? What Bitdefender related entries I mean.
