Cannot launch Citrix Ica client
Hi
I am trying to login to my employers Citrix application using my home computer. It worked for about 2 years just fine, but now it doesn't work anymore. If I disable the firewall in Bitdefender I am allowed to log in. Therefore I assume the problem is related to Bitdefender.
My logon process
- I start Google Chrome
- Type in my employers URL in the browser
- The website launches without any problems. The login procedure works fine.
- The browser downloads a file of the type "Citrix ICA Client (.ica)". When I click on the file I get the following error messages
What I have tried so far:
- Using Edge and Internet Explorer instead of Chrome, without any success.
- Running ReceiverCleanupUtility and reinstalling Citrix, without any success.
- Disabling Bitdefender firewall. That worked and I was allowed to login.
- In Bitdefender under "Notifications", I don't get any notifications that Bitdefender has blocked anything.
My computer runs
- Windows 10 Home - Version 1803
- Bitdefender Total Security

Please try to exclude the client in your firewall locally.
- open Bitdefender and click on Protection from the side-menu
- click on Application access under the Firewall column
- switch the "connected" adapter to your currently used one ( eg: from ethernet to wifi )
- check for any entries showing the client as blocked and expand them to allow it instead
