Teredo Pseudo Tunneling Interface driver

I am new to Bitdefender.  I am using the Bitdefender Total Security 2019 package.  I am trying to get my Windows 10 Microsoft games like State of Decay and Forza to work with XBOX Live.  They use Teredo from my understanding.  If I uninstall Bitdefender, everything works fine.  If it is installed It is offline and chat does not work.  People connecting to me or me to them will not work.  I The apps, games, have been given permissions, but the Teredo seem to remain the issue.   Any ideals.  I have listed  my netsh commands below.

With Bitdefender:

C:\WINDOWS\system32>netsh

netsh>int

In future versions of Windows, Microsoft might remove the Netsh functionality

for TCP/IP.

Microsoft recommends that you transition to Windows PowerShell if you currently

use netsh to configure and manage TCP/IP.

Type Get-Command -Module NetTCPIP at the Windows PowerShell prompt to view

a list of commands to manage TCP/IP.

Visit https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=217627 for additional information

about PowerShell commands for TCP/IP.

netsh interface>teredo

netsh interface teredo>show state

Teredo Parameters

---------------------------------------------

Type                    : disabled

Server Name             : win1901.ipv6.microsoft.com.

Client Refresh Interval : 20 seconds

Client Port             : 3544

State                   : offline

Error                   : none

without Bitdefender

C:\>netsh

netsh>int

  • Hello,

Sounds like the firewall might be interfering.

Please drop us an email at bitsy@bitdefender.com with a support tool log so that we can assist:

     https://www.bitdefender.com/consumer/support/answer/1730/

  • I was able to resolve this issue by doing a Windows Reset and reinstall Bitdefender.  On top of that I also set the the following:

    reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\Parameters /v DisabledComponents /t REG_DWORD /d 0x0 /f

    and for Teredo itseld:

    Teredo Parameters

    ---------------------------------------------

    Type                    : client (Group Policy)

Server Name             : win1901.ipv6.microsoft.com (Group Policy)

Client Refresh Interval : 30 seconds  (Group Policy)

Client Port             : 3544  (Group Policy)

    State                   : qualified

Client Type             : teredo host-specific relay

    Network                 : unmanaged

    NAT                     : cone

NAT Special Behaviour   : UPNP: Yes, PortPreserving: Yes

    Local Mapping           : 192.168.1.129:3544

    External NAT Mapping    : 71.85.12.112:3544

And all is working so far.

  • I was having this issue as well, what you have to do in Bitdefender is to go into Protection>Firewall - Settings>Settings Tab, you'll then see the Default Application Behaviour at the bottom of the page, click on Edit Default Rules.

In the new window, you should see the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface, in the drop down click on Automatic instead of Allow.

After clicking on that and then going back to CMD and typing out command netsh interface Teredo show state, it then showed the below instead of disabled.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>netsh interface Teredo show state
    Teredo Parameters
    ---------------------------------------------
    Type : natawareclient
    Server Name : win1910.ipv6.microsoft.com.
Client Refresh Interval : 20 seconds
    Client Port : unspecified
    State : qualified
Client Type : teredo host-specific relay
    Network : unmanaged
    NAT : cone
NAT Special Behaviour : UPNP: Yes, PortPreserving: Yes
    Local Mapping : <Removed for Privacy>
    External NAT Mapping : <Removed for Privacy>

This only got me half way as only the NAT Type Open now shows in Xbox Networking, but Server Connectivity is still blocked.

I've already set ICMP to Allowed in the Rules, which im not very happy about setting but im rather desperate at this point, so if anyone knows how to fix this from here, then do comment and let me know.

I found out it has something todo with the "svchost.exe" but sometimes it wil be removed from your firewall the file you can find in \windows\system32. It worked for me for 5 min and now it's blocked again

    internet connection connected

xbox live services up and running

    latency 158 ms

    packet lost 0%

nat type teredo is unable to qualify

    server connectivity Blocked

and now 5 min later it works again so it must be on microsofts side that the protocol is so bad.

now found out that the settings\xbox networking must be open then it keeps working for me

    Type          : natawareclient

    Server Name       : win1910.ipv6.microsoft.com.

Client Refresh Interval : 20 seconds

    Client Port       : unspecified

    State          : qualified

Client Type       : teredo host-specific relay

    Network         : unmanaged

    NAT           : cone

NAT Special Behaviour  : UPNP: Yes, PortPreserving: Yes

  • I am a new BitDefender Premium customer. A couple of days ago I noticed that the Network Adapter section of the Device Manager was showing the Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter with that little yellow triangle on it's icon. I tried everything I knew to get it back online and nothing worked. I got to thinking that my most recent installation was for BitDefender. After so more Googling I found out the problem was firewall related. I stopped the firewall and reenabled the driver and it started up just fine. It had been throwing an error code 10 before I shutdown the firewall. I reenabled the firewall and so far it's been showing as OK. What is wrong with BitDefender Premium that is causing this to happen.

I'm running on a old Windows 7 machine. What do I need to do to get this fixed?
