"r" and "rstudio"

I tried to run a program on "r" which I am just learning (I am very much a beginner who barely knows what I'm doing). Bitdefender keeps crashing the computer when I run the package stating that some of the r files get encrypted, so bitdefender shuts it down to restore it. Any suggestions? I want to run r but dont want to run it if there really is ransomware. But why would ransomware just encrypt r files?
