Bitdefender not removing Trojan.Ransom.GoldenEye

Hello,

I'm at a loss because I thought Bitdefender protected from and removed viruses. A scan roduced a virus and the option was 'Take appropriate action' (So descriptive). Bitdefender did nothing. IT says I have Trojan.Ransom.GoldenEye on the boot image of a storage drive and it says No action was taken. This seems like the opposite of what the programs intent is. What can I do?

Thanks

Well deleting a boot image file might end up crashing up your system and making your PC totally unbootable and that is why bitdefender is not able to do anything but to show up the notification. Secondly, it can be that the file is currently used by the system and hence bitdefender is unable to delete or remove the file.

The infection being a boot image file, I would request you to kindly drop an email to bitdefender support at bitsy@bitdefender.com
