Why is Photo Transfer no longer working after Bitdefender install?

I use an app on my iPhone called Photo Transfer and it's Windows companion on my PC to transfer pictures through our Wi-Fi from one device to the other. This product quit working after I installed Bitdefender. Specifically, when I start Photo Transfer on my PC and start the app on my iPhone, then search for the iPhone as a Wi-Fi connected device - the PC no longer finds the iPhone. I turned off the VPN on both devices to see if that would help; it didn't. Ideas?
