EXTRA Long Full System Scan 14 hours and counting - Why?

I started a scan yesterday and it went for over 9 hours, so I stopped it thinking something was wrong.
I started a new Full System Scan last night and it's now been running for 14 hours !!!!
I know PC performance can impact it. BUT wow, is this normal? I can't remember the last time it took this long.
My PC: is an i7, 32GB RAM with 1 x 1TB SSD and 1x 2TB HDD
