Bitdefender icon

I have Bitdefender Total Security.... but on my screen, the icon at the bottom is always grey.... always says it is loading.... and never turns red. Dashboard says I am protected.... but the icon at the bottom always stays grey and says it is loading.

My laptop was recently serviced. I cannot find the Bitdefender icon anywhere on the desktop or taskbar. Where did it go?
