How do I use BD Rescue Disc?

Hi,

I have a problem: I can't install the NTFS Write Drivers for use with BD Rescue Disc v9.

This is what I did:

1) open Install NTFS Write Drivers from desktop

2) I clicked on Step 1: Mount all local NTFS Partitions

Result: 4 mounted, 0 failed

3) I clicked Step 2: Quick search...

Result: Failed!

4) I clicked Step 3: Search on all mounted partitions

Result: Failed!

5) I tried to manually search for the files. I found them, but when I click Test drivers it says that "Drivers are not correct, failed!"

What did I do wrong? I'm new to Linux, so if there's a more complicated solution, please be specific about what should I do. :)

Oh, and another thing: does anyone know when will BD Rescue disc v10 be available on ftp.bitdefender.com ?

  • I can't even start the rescue cd-rom. When I start it I can see the screen of Linuxdefender but nothing happens. On my old pc I could use linuxdefender without any problems. I also use loony's solution to be able to scan BD in safe mode. To let the rescue cd-rom work these two files must be accessible : ntoskrnl.exe and ntfs.sys.

  • Hi Niels,
