Total Pc Meltdown
it started with a blank start button... nothing to click after clicking start, no control panel, accesories, no nothing. Just went down hill from there. So I take it to geek sqaud to have them work on it. They made matters even worse. Now my PC won't even boot. When I press the power switch the whir of the fans coming on is the only thing that happens. So How do I save my info off the old drive and reformat. I figure its slaving the drive but I'm not sure how to go about doing that.... or if its even safe to the other computer to do that. Don't want to share this bug with another puter. I do have a Maxtor backup drive but I couldn't figure out how to sync two computers together with it when one isn't booting...If thats even possible. also when i thought about the slaving the hd to my old pc I discovered the connection were not compatible. old pc has those round connections and new harddrive has the flat skinny connections.
FYI this is what happens when you turn off firewalls and Bitdefender to play mmorpgs and forget to turn them back on afterward.
