Eject Thumb Drive Pop-up Missing

Ever since installing BitDefender my Eject Pop-up window has taken a hike and (I guess) I'll only be notified if/when it isn't safe to remove the drive. I don't like this! Is there some way to get BD to either allow the pop-up or just get out of the way and let things go back to where they were?
I'm running Windows 7 and used Total Commander for all my file manipulations which is much easier than trying to find the TD icon and going through that menu.
