Full Scan running for over 35 hours!

While I was out my husband clicked on a link that froze the screen and in his panic he called the scammers tech #. Fortunately he is not the admin and couldn't give the "tech' the info he wanted so he called me. I rushed home and pulled the power plug and ethernet. After I rebooted I started running a Full Scan, we are now going over 35 hours and I have no idea how far along this is. My screen does not show a progress number. Is this even possible?
