Asked to UN-Install Bitdefender Root Certificate during installation

My installation paused with a pop-up asking me un-install bitdefender root certificate, and prompting me to select "yes" to automatically close firefox so that Bitdefender root certificate could be un-installed. Does this sound normal - or does this sound like malware blocking my installation? It seems counter intuitive to me that I would want to Un-install any part of the software that I'm trying to install.

I did not select "yes". I simply closed firefox. The propt-window then turned into a black window with a blinking curser "C:Program Files\Bitdefender\\Bitdefender Security\mitm_install_tool_dci_exe" which I closed manually. The install window then said my installation was complete.

I ran a device scan afterwards, so the software seems to functional. It did not detect any malware which surprised me. The reason I purchased the software is because of 2 company security breaches compromising all of my information + recent exe error messages on startup "WD Discovery...attempt was made to execute illegal action" etc, as well as frequent crashing and unsual log-in activity on a couple of my accounts after changing my passwords.

If anyone thinks I should be double checking anything to insure that my installation was not modified in some undesirable way, please let me know.

Thanks!
