Getting 10000% more ads with bitdefender than without
Computer was fine, paid for a year of BD for protection. Now I get 1-2 popups every day on my desktop asking me to pay for more services. Special Offers is unchecked in the options, yet they still show up. Support is not immediately available in the desktop app, so I have to log in to the forum. Can this actually be disabled, or do I need to remove it from my computer to stop the alerts?

Hello @Swaggykins and welcome to the Community.
Can you post a screenshot of the pop-up notification you are receiving?
Notifications are an important tool in monitoring and managing your Bitdefender protection and we need to find out exactly what is the nature of this pop up message. If it's a "what's new" pop-up, this is supposed to be displayed only once and if it's being displayed multiple times, we need to have a closer look.
If it's located in the recommendations section, it won't be a pop-up notification and not an ad either, it would be a banner.
Best regards.

I don't have screenshots right now. They are all popups advertising for other services. VPN, Ransomware, Password Manager, "SafePay", all popups from BD. They popup sometimes multiple times a day, and usually unprompted (SafePay will open on EVERY SINGLE TIME I open my bank's page). They are never a "What's New" popup. It's not in the recommendations section; it is a popup in the bottom-right corner of my screen.

I understand.
Apply the following settings and let me know if you still receive unwanted notifications afterwards:
1. The main window of the Bitdefender antivirus -> settings -> basic -> recommendation notifications - disabled.
2. The main window of the Bitdefender antivirus -> settings -> general -> special offers - disabled.
3. The main window of the Bitdefender antivirus -> settings -> Updates -> Updates without notification - enabled.
4. The main window of the Bitdefender antivirus -> Tool -> Profiles -> Settings -> Automatically activate profiles - disabled.
5. Profiles -> Activate Profiles Manually -> Work Profile - enabled. (Work profile - customize - additional window - check or uncheck the necessary positions of your choice).
6. The main window of the Bitdefender antivirus -> Protection -> Vulnerabilities - (you can set the switch to off, all recommendations will be disabled).
or - Vulnerabilities -> Open -> Settings - turn off those switches about which you do not want to receive notifications.
By default, Bitdefender detects when you navigate to an online banking site in any browser on your Windows device and prompts you to launch it in Safepay. To customize your preferences for Safepay, kindly check the article below:
I hope this information is helpful.
Best regards.

And now Bitdefender uses the popup mechanism to market surveys. One more popup and I will cancel my subscription. I want less advertising, not more, out of a product like Bitfender. I very much doubt they will clean up their act as this goes back at least a decade!
