Connection speeds

When I look at my Wifi network it shows a speed of 150Mbps. When I look at the local area connection, which only shows in Network and Sharing Center when I have the VPN on, that shows a speed of 1.0Gbps and when I do a speed test, I get 87Mbps.

If the local area connection is getting 1.0Gbps, why is my wifi so slow?

Do I have a configuration problem in Bitdefender?
