Hi All

I'm an 'Ask Leo' fan and, after reading the latest issue, I have concerns regarding the protection by BD against malware encoded in QR units. Will BD isolate malware and prohibit connections to 'fatal' URL's? For the time being, I am avoiding QR codes.

I have just uninstalled the QR code scanner on my android phone, as it auto connects to the URL without allowing inspection of the address to permit selection or, a safe exit. Can anyone recommend a safer QR code scanner.

Hello @Lojong,

As long as the URL is open in the browser, and you have Web Protection enabled in Bitdefender Mobile Security and the browser is supported by Web Protection, yes, it will catch malware.
