i did an BD virus update today, now some BD functions not working ?

hi i did an online update today of bitdefender ,, and after the update some of bitdefenders functions fail to work...

is there a problem with the latest update from bitdefender ? anyone else having issues after doing a BD "update" ?

things that no longer work following the update are -

  • quick scan - when i click on it nothing happens
  • system scan - when i click on it nothing happens
  • cannot connect online directly thru Bitdefender itself, when i click on it nothing happens.. i have to open up firefox and use mozilla search engine to get to bitdefenders web site now.

the optimizer still works, and vulnerability app still opens up too when i click on them...im not sure about the other functions these are the four i use most so i checked them only.


i am going to down load the removal tool now , and do a reinstall of BD in case i did something wrong while downloading the BD update.

in the meantime i will check back to see if anyword on issues with the latest BD update..

    What version did it say it updated to? What build is, was it?

    My notebook is asking for a restart, probably for the new build. I'll see how that goes for me.

    I have Bitdefender Total Security build 26.0.23.80, which was updated on August 3.

    Until today 8 PM local time, i haven't faced any issues at all. I'll check again tomorrow and i'll let you know for the results.

    Also, before using the Uninstall tool, you could repair Bitdefender, by following these steps:

    @Clapton I installed the new build update 26.0.23.80 restarted the PC, then ran another update again, checked for problems and everything's working good. Then to be sure, I restarted the PC and ran another update with no problems, so far.

    Just like @Scott, in my case everything is working well, without any problems.

    The Quick Scan runs, the System Scan runs and when in the program i click on "Go to Central" the website is opened in my browser.

    So, first do the Repair thing and then do the Uninstall/Reinstall thing.

    If the repair route does not return the expected results, I would recommend to get in touch with the Support Teams. We haven't received any similar reports as far as I know, but this is something for the engineers to check, as the antivirus should not behave like this after an update.
