Bitdefender Blocks Safe Site

Options

I have been unable to log onto http://www.washingtontimes.com/ Using Windows Vista on new laptop. Cannot access that website using Firefox or Internet Explorer with BitDefender Anti-virus 2009. Not experiencing same problem with BitDefender on two Windows XP machines.

Tech support at BitDefender told me to delete BitDefender and then reinstall it. Did that twice. The site is still blocked. ONLY way I can access that innocuous site is to uninstall BitDefender.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hello vrm3,

    Try this :

Press the windows button together with r now type this ipconfig /flushdns press enter. Unplug the main powercable of your router. Shutdown your laptop. Plug the main power cable back in. Start your laptop again. After that remove the internet cache. For internet explorer 7 see here. For firefox see here. Now open BitDefender switch to advanced view go to the antivirus section press on custom level if and uncheck scan http traffic and press on ok.

    Kind regards,

    Niels
