If you live outside the USA you might find that you face the same situation I did. I purchased a liccence for BitDefender on Amazon uK and downloaded the software. I got a licence code via email and when I posted this to the licence field I was advised that this licence was not valid for the country I lived in (Ireland) dispite being advised on Amazon that this product is available for licence in Ireland.
I urgently needed and anti virus program so I purchased TotalAV which downloaded, installed and scanned in five minutes. I emailed BitDefender who advised me to contact Amazon despite the fact that Amazon will not give refunds for downloads.
I contacted my credit card company who advise me to go to Amazon. It appears that I have purchased a pig in a poke. I am at a lost to know how to get my money back which is now likely lost.
I posted the following review on Amazon which they refused to accept.
Downloaded this product and couldn't activate the program because the activation code sent by email is not valid for the UK and Ireland. Contacted Bitdefender who advised me to contact Amazon for a refund. Amazon advise there is no refund available against this product. BUYER BEWARE. I would give them a zero rating if possible. I left a previous review which Amazon refused to post.
In the UK I think this can be considered a clear "misrepresentation of goods" under the "Misrepresentation of Goods Act." I want others to be aware that this company policy results in a total waste of time and effort and likely loss of money.
