Bitdefender Popup Ads Means Financial Trouble
When a tech company is using popup ads in their product, it's a bad sign. Like Norton, it's usually a company that's struggling to meet its revenue targets and attempts to shake a few more coins from the pockets of its existing customer base. Sad but true.

Hi @cghoer
Bitdefender's Password Manager which is still pretty new (March of 2022) and Digital Identity Protection and Identity Theft Protection are newer as well. So Bitdefender would like to let people know about these products that could be helpful with their online and personal security. Bitdefender is not in financial trouble.
What pop-up ads are you getting? On a Windows PC, if you go to the Settings option on the left-hand side of the main Dashboard, then General, you can turn those off, and it does work well, they do stop.
After enabling those settings, let us know if there are any others that pop-up, so we can help you. And if needed, if you can take a screenshot of them @Alexandru_BD or @Mike_BD could bump you up to Level 2, to be able to post them, if desired.
Kind regards,
Scott

Hello @cghoer and welcome to the Bitdefender Community!
The product related notifications are designed to make the users aware of the available security features and help them make the best out of their Bitdefender subscription and services. These proved very useful, especially for users that are not tech savvy and could use this guidance and recommendations to further enhance their privacy and security online. Furthermore, the special offers feature provides customers with the opportunity to manually renew at favorable prices during the subscription period, so it's always a good idea to leave this option enabled to benefit from the latest discounts.
Apart from the product settings highlighted by @Scott above, you may change the way Bitdefender communicates with you using the Central account as well.
Simply go to https://account.bitdefender.com/, login and click on the profile picture to reveal the drop-down menu. From there, select 'Bitdefender account', then go to 'Data & Privacy' and select the privacy preferences option (if available). If not, you can also unsubscribe from all commercial communications either by using the option displayed in the emails received, or by contacting the Support teams at any given time.
It would be very helpful for us to know exactly what notification is bothering you, so we can further advise.
I hope the information is helpful.
Regards,
Alex

For peace of mind, I confirm that Bitdefender is not in financial trouble. The company has recently announced it has agreed to acquire Singapore-based Horangi Cyber Security to address the growing demand for advanced, streamlined management of cybersecurity, compliance, and governance of multi-cloud environments.
