Split tunneling a game won't work

Hello!

I'm currently connected to VPN to a foreign country. I recently found out that there is a split tunneling for bitdefender VPN. I'm trying to run a videogame on the US server, which is where I am located. when I add the exe file to the split tunneling setting, it just won't work so i've been disconnecting and reconnecting everytime I want to play a game. I'm not sure what I am missing, or if I'm doing something wrong.
