i just Bitdefender on computer - how do i setup scheduled scans?

You can also adjust the pre-configured System Scan as well as the Quick Scan by ticking on the 3 dots/Edit and going through the settings.

Setting the Scan task priority to High will increase the scan speed, but will also use more resources. Low priority will take a little longer, but use less system resources.

thanks muchly. also,, i am not that computer savvy and use Best Buy's Geek Squad for help -- so if i enable Rescue Environment does that shut down my computer so no one can fix the problem (not sure i could do that on my own)? I'm not sure if it is necessary for me to enable this feature.

Also, when inserting flash drives into computer - does Bitdefender automatically scan (and notify it is doing so) flash drives?

Unless you are experiencing malware on your device that a System scan is having a hard time with, there is no need to use Rescue Environment. There are also other tools that can be used as well, if needed.

Yes, Bitdefender will automatically scan flash drives when inserted. You can confirm that is enabled by going to Protection/Antivirus open/Settings and tick the drop-down arrow if needed (if it isn't already set to Autoscan).
