How to restart my laptop after a BD update
My (old) Toshiba laptop will not restart after the latest BD update. It was working as usual up to me shutting down, but now all I get is a blank screen with the pointer and time.
I've tried a windows 10 recovery by repeated shutting down and restarting but that does not work.
Any ideas gratefully received.

If you are able to boot into safe mode, use the Bitdefender uninstaller to remove the Bitdefender product: https://www.bitdefender.com/files/KnowledgeBase/file/Bitdefender_2022_Uninstall_Tool.exe
Since you will not have access to the internet in safe mode, you will need to use a USB/flash drive to copy the Bitdefender uninstaller from your working PC/laptop and transfer it to the USB/flash drive. Then, plug the USB/flash drive into your PC in safe mode and run the installer.
If you can successfully uninstall the Bitdefender product, that should resolve your issue. If the issue persists, you will have to use system restore in safe mode to revert your Windows to an earlier restore point when the Bitdefender product was not installed. If system restore fails, you can try resetting your Windows from the settings menu in safe mode. Resetting the PC will provide you with the option to keep your data and remove all the software that was installed on your PC. If resetting Windows also fails, you will need to reinstall Windows from scratch.
