Bitdefender for Mac Vs Total security

Hi,

Does Bitedefender Antivirus for Mac offer the same protections as Bitdefender Total Security? I want to protect an Android device and a Mac laptop, it seems cheaper to buy two antiviruses, one for Mac and another for Android than to buy Bitdefinder Total Security.

Bitdefender Total Security offers complete protection for the most popular operating systems, Windows, macOS, Android and iOS and it's the best value for money when looking for a multi-device security solution. Total Security is not an antivirus per se, but a package. I think it's also more practical to have all of them under the same roof, rather than having separate licenses/subscriptions for each operating system. Of course, this depends on the number of devices that require protection, because in some cases it can be necessary to purchase multiple subscriptions to cover them all. As for pricing, there will be some good deals coming soon for Black Friday.

In regards to Antivirus for Mac, the macOS is a much more strict environment than Windows, a situation that has two effects: one is that macOS does not require the same amount of extensive anti-malware modules as access is much more restricted to any 3rd party (not only including possible malicious apps / files, but the same restrictions apply to 3rd party software manufactures such as ourselves. The second effect is that since the OS is much more restrictive, mirroring the same in-depth technologies available on Windows is not possible on macOS, due to the limited access provided to developers. For example, Antivirus for Mac does not include a firewall and Apple holds primary functions in some areas for themselves.

To simplify, the features of Bitdefender Total Security are only limited to Windows. However, for Mac, Android, and iOS, the Bitdefender Total Security key can be used to activate them. There are no other differences.

It's called Total Security because it offers total protection for Windows, macOS, Android, iOS 🙂

While the Total Security component for Windows is indeed limited to this operating system, its other components can protect the above operating systems. I hope it's clearer now. 😅

@Alexandru_BD that is where only license key come into the place, for all other OS, one has to download respective app for respective OS 😂
