Icon on the taskbar - problem still not solved

I have been using BitDefender Total Security for 2 months.

Its performance with other antivirus programs is better. What is frivolous and compromising? After each Windows 11 update, the taskbar icon disappears. Over the course of 2 months, I have already reinstalled BitDefender 4 times! to get the icon back on the taskbar. Is this how this program is supposed to be used? Other antiviruses, even the least effective ones, do not have such a compromising problem. I've looked through the entire forum and haven't found any idea on how to effectively fix this trivial problem. The icon is needed for faster updates, convenience and confidence that the program is working properly.

So far, only reinstalling BitDefender fixes this nonsense. Have any of your colleagues dealt with this problem?

    In the event the issue persists, try the following:

    Step 1: Search "Bitdefender" in Windows Search Option.

    Step 2: After the Bitdefender app comes in search result, right click on it, hover to select "Open file Location" by left click.

    Step 3: This will take you to a shortcut of the app. Now right click on that shortcut and go in its "Properties".

    Step 4: Under properties tab you'll find that the app icon is missing. There is an option to "Change Icon", left click on it. Then select "Bitdefender" icon.

    Step 5: If you're already running the app, then the icon will still appear blank. Close the app from the taskbar. Then reopen and it should be displayed properly.

    Let us know how it goes.

    I will try this solution the next time the taskbar icon disappears. Today I have a freshly installed antivirus. For now, the icon is still present.

  • Today, for the 5th time, the icon disappeared from the taskbar. Sorry, the above tip doesn't fix the icon disappearing from the taskbar.

    I think that the best option for you is to contact Bitdefender Consumer Support, as the support engineers could take a deeper look at the issue, so do the steps below.

    First, take screenshot(s) of the issue

    and create a log file on your Windows device using Bitdefender Support Tool, by following these steps:

    Next, contact Bitdefender Consumer Support by e-mail:

    with short description of the issue.

    After that, you will get an automated reply by the Bitdefender Customer Care Team, with your ticket number.

    Now, in reply to that automated reply, you can send the screenshot(s) you already took and the log file you already created in the first step.

    Since you are all done, just wait for the support engineers to investigate your issue and find a solution to fix the issue.

    Remember that the screenshot(s) and the log file will help a lot to the support engineers for better and faster investigation on your issue and finding a solution.

    NOTE: If the log file is larger than 25MB, you can upload the log file here:

    After the upload is done, you will get a notification with the file's URL and then you can share the file's URL with the Bitdefender Consumer Support.
