Hi, starting yesterday BitDefender has started reporting viruses in a number of files on my PC.

I'm not convinced that these are real viruses because of the files that they're found in: very old zip files, iso files, msi files, etc.

Here are the details of my system:

Vista Business 64-bit

AntiVirus 2009 V:12.0.10.3

Virus Definitions: Updated 2008/11/11 08:32:32 PM (GMT +2)

Engine Version: 7.21813

I'm attaching a file that I extracted from an ISO image that was reported as containing a virus. Thing is: I downloaded the file from Microsoft's site today.

password: infected

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Comments

  • After updating the virus definitions to Version 7.21817 the file is not longer reported as being infected.

I'm just a bit peeved because BitDefender deleted a bunch of uninfected files without quarantining them.

Anyway, thanks for the update. Still a great product
