BUG?: Anti-Theft Alert Sound Blocked by Screen Timeout

I have Bitdefender Security installed on a LG- G8 ThinQ. There's an issue with the Anti-Theft Alert feature that makes in unusable to actually find my phone.
Steps:
- Misplace phone
- Log in to Bitdefender Central, send Alert
The alert does not go off. One of two things I have found so far that will trigger it
1) Have someone call my phone. Suddenly the I can hear the alert.
2) Find the phone and hit the power button to active the screen. Alert goes off.
Seems like the alert is silent if the screen is off. That means as soon as the screen times out, it nullifies the feature. Obviously this makes the feature useless.
Is there a setting to address this, or is it a bug. Thanks.
