How to know whether installation process is working or not

I have a screen that tells me that my desktop isn't protected but when I click on the button to Enable Protection the next screen tells me that a fix is in progress. After a short while, the screen reverts to the previous screen, telling me that my desktop isn't protected. I can see that some activity is continuing on my screen, but I don't know whether the installation process is continuing in the background or if I'm merely in a death-loop. Windows Task Manager, shows me to Bitd

Bitdefender icons but without a clue as to the nature of the activity.

Help!!!

  • Using a second email, I was able to download Bitdefender and the app is now scanning my device.
