Storage scan

Hi, I was wondering if there's any way to scan folders or specific files in the mobile version. I usually download a lot of files from my mobile so this option is mandatory for me. I'm paying for the premium version but can't find that option. Desktop version and everything else is good so far. Thanks in advance

1) By default, Bitdefender Mobile Security scans the storage on your Android device. However, it won’t scan system applications, as these are generally considered safe and shouldn’t be infected.

2) You can adjust the Scan Storage option from the Settings menu to enable or disable scanning of your device’s storage.

3) Unfortunately, Bitdefender Mobile Security does not provide a direct option to scan specific individual files or folders. It primarily focuses on scanning installed applications and .apk files.

4) Whenever you download a particular file, Bitdefender scans it in real-time for malware.

Hello, thank your for answering. The system applications scan is not a problem for me . The scan storage options is activated, however I did download a file for testing in wicar.org and it and does not detect it. The file is in my download folder, I did a full scan and again, not detected. It's very important for me to know if I'm downlading an infested file and having to upload them to virustotal.com misses the point of paying an antivirus. Any idea?

Bitdefender Mobile Security will only check for the .apk file extension and no other file extension. Hence, it will not detect any other kinds of files.

For Wicar, only the Bitdefender web protection will come into action to block the websites.

You can check the detection of Bitdefender via the test file provided by AMTSO, which is an alternative to Wicar but also has Android testing samples.
