VPN Changes Wifi Signal

When I log into my WiFi service the Icon looks like this

When I turn on my Bitdefender VPN it changes to this.

Why does it do that. Seems kinda trivial but I have learned to question anything out of the ordinary. It just started changing like this and it doesn't seem right.

    Hello,

    Yes, that's natural because the VPN adapters will display an Ethernet icon. The VPN software may create virtual network adapters for the VPN connection and the software integrates with the network connection icons in the system tray to indicate the status of the VPN connection.
