Locked out of 'settings' on pixel 2 phone

Had problems with bitdefender/android since day 1. I progressed to attempt uninstall/reinstall which did not work. I'm now locked out of 'settings' and this error message pops up when I try to access 'settings: "This app is locked with (company_name) App Lock. Suggestions on how to fix this error & regain control of my phone??

Select, Activate and Install→Install→I don't know→Contact Support→You will get the option of chat, call or email.

If you're locked out of your phone’s settings due to Bitdefender’s App Lock, try uninstalling the app via your device’s settings or in Safe Mode if necessary. If you can't disable App Lock through Bitdefender’s interface, consider performing a factory reset as a last resort. Once you regain access, reinstall Bitdefender carefully to prevent further issues.
