Cache memory is a small, high-speed storage area in a computer that temporarily holds frequently used data and instructions. It helps the computer run faster by allowing the processor to quickly access this information without having to retrieve it from the slower main memory (RAM).
Cache memory is installed directly on the processor (CPU) chip or very close to it on the motherboard. This proximity to the CPU allows for much quicker data access compared to retrieving data from the main memory.
