I just updated to Bitdefender 2012 about 2 - 3 weeks ago. Now every time i run a scan i get a blue screen of death. I never had this problem with 2011. I also don't like the new interface with Bitdefender 2012!

If you guys cant fix this im am definitely going to get a new antivirus program when this one runs out. It just seems like there is one problem after another with Bitdefender.

I await your response and help! <img class=" />

  • No reply or fix! Now this really epitomizes the kind of service i have come to expect with Bitdefender. I thought the whole idea of having this forum was to help customers with problems.

    Hello,

You receive a BSOD when you start a Full System Scan or after the scan starts ? It always crash at the same file ? What Operating System are you using ? What BitDefender product are you using ?

You mention upgrading from 2011 to 2012. How exactly have you made this upgrade ?

Last but not least please note that the average response time is 48-72 hours. I understand your frustration however please understand that we also have some rules to follow. Read the forum rules below and learn how to post a request for assistance.

    Kind regards,

I'm using Internet security 2012. Im not sure if i get the BSOD at the same spot or file. I just run it and walk away for my computer. Im using windows 7 64bit. I did a complete removal of Bitdefender 2011 with removal tool and then did a fresh install of Bitdefender 2012.

    Thanks.

  • Well i fixed my problem with the blue screen of death on scanning! I uninstalled bitdefender internet security 2012 and went back to 2011. Problem solved! Its been days since i posted this and no reply or fix from the bitdefender team! Way to go guys. Great service! <img class=" /><img class=" />

    Oh P.S

Anybody having problems with Windows live messenger using up 50% to 100% of your CPU. Uninstall bitdefender 2012. Problem solved again. It looks like product testing has gone the way of the Dodo bird.

Anybody remember when they released a update last year that saw every file on your computer as a virus and deleted them. It even saw it self as a virus! <img class=" />

I rest my case on product testing.

    Thanks for nothing bitdefender!

  • I have had the same issue with 2012, run a full scan and the system crashes and restarts. I also notice that the system has been crashing and restarting over night.

I have gone back to 2011 and have had no issues. Any ideas why?

  • Hello,

I have said it numerous times: why you uninstall 2012 then asking for an answer ? I can't guess why you encounter the issue you report without any logs and uninstalling the software won't help us find the culprit. Whenever you have an issue with BitDefender please DO NOT uninstall it.

You have several channels open for communication: email, phone, Live chat assistance or the forum and any of my colleagues can guide you on how to workaround the issue instead of uninstalling and reinstalling every time you find an issue. It's time consuming and we won't be able to tell you what exactly went wrong.

Whenever you encounter ANY issue with BitDefender please wait for our answer, the resolution may be a lot easier and faster then the reinstall process.

Craigh: if you reinstall 2012 please let me know and we will start troubleshooting the issue.

Irish FX4: if you reinstall 2012 please let me know and we will start troubleshooting the issue.

    Hello!,

The reason i uninstalled it. Was because i got no response. I don't have time to sit and wait for your UN helpful reply s. You have responded twice to me now and both time you did not offer to help me or fix my problem, the first was to inform me of the rules and then jugging from the tone of your last reply, im not sure you want to help me. If you need logs or other info then maybe you should have said that in your earlier posts? Before i uninstalled BD2012. As for reinstalling 2012 I don't think so.

    I don't need the headache.

Irish FX4: You got an answer the next day you started the topic. The average response time is 48-72 hours so I guess you can wait like everyone else. Why I haven't asked for logs in my first reply? Because you didn't explained the issue so I could understand it. And I first try to resolve the issue by following few steps like disabling few BitDefender options, then I ask for logs. Still it depends from case to case. Last but not least, you request for assistance then you uninstall 2012 and install 2011. How can I assist you then? I can't guess the cause of the issue you encounter.

I'm sorry you find my posts UN helpful. If you don't provide me with enough details nor you wish to generate a support tool log then I'm afraid my hands are tied since you decided not to reinstall 2012 and the issue does not occur on 2011.

HKM: Please follow the steps explained in the article below and send me via PM the generated log file:

    Hello all,

Windows generates some dump files when a STOP error (or BSOD) occurs. These dumps are stored in C:\Windows\Minidump\ (you need administrative privileges to access this location)

Please go to that location, put all files in an archive, upload the archive on a file sharing server of your choice (for instance, sendspace.com) and post here the download link. One of those dumps might offer some clues about what caused the crash.

    Cris.

P.S.: It doesn't matter if you un/reinstalled BitDefender. Those dumps should be there regardless.

Im having a very weird problem with Bitdefender Total Security 2012 "Custom Scanning".....

    I have 3 drives on my system C, D & E....

Whenever I try to scan drive D or E using Custom scan, the scanner launches itself, a window opens and it begins the scan BUT somehow it scans files on Drive C and does not scan the desired drive D or E.

It stops after a while and shows me the details which do not include the desired drive. Furthermore, if I try scanning a particular folder in drive D or E, same things happens....

On the other hand, when I try scanning drive C or a folder in drive C, its does that without a problem....

    Plz help me with this.....

For your info, I just ran a custom scan on a single folder on drive D and this is what a get:

Irish: I couldn't locate any tickets with us nor an account created that matches the email you used to open an account of our forum. You did not send us any log files so it's impossible for me to assist you further.

Hkm: Can we please have the following so we can assist you on the issue you encounter with the scan:

    - a support tool or sysdump log file;

    - minidumps logs from C:\Windows\Minidump\;

    Looking forward to your answer!

I have had same problems with bitdefender 2012 (bdf), been a long term user, years , of bitdefender, this will be my last, Its no good someone saying dont unistall bdf but some of us want to work or play and use a pc for what is was designed for, not a resarch and development tool for bitdefender. I have numerous problems with bdf 2012 and never with any of the earlier programs. As a computer engineer of over thirty five years experience I am disappionted with this latest program to say the least. I dont expect to be told to load a support tool and try and reproduce the error, I dont want my BSOD and I dont want to lose data or my time to do what seems to be R & D which should have been done before what is Bitdefender trying to do, emulate Microsoft.
