Problems After Manual Update

hi


after installin weekly updates for bitdefender 2008 total internet security


my bitdefender fails to start again


specifically


the serivces


bitdefender threat scanner


does not start..


so m unable to scan any files


the error says bitdefender scanner failed to intialize

    i tried doing both


    it works fine after installation


    but when i install the updates the same problem reoccurs

    You can check the status of the BitDefender services by doing this go to start,run,type services.msc press enter. Now check the status of every service that has BitDefender in the name it should be started (running). Double click on them and the start up type should be automatic.

    fail to start


    on trying to start the virus shield i get the error


    the bitdefender virus shield on the local computer started and then stopped.Some services stop automatically if they or not in use by other services or programs.


    repairing does help but the updates are also removed during repair


    i am also including the screen shots of services after updates and the error while enabling the services

  • As I can see in your screen-shots, you also have NOD32 intsalled. It could be that there are some incompatibilities between them. Though, you should try removing NOD32, and then reinstalling BD again also. If the problem persists, come back, and we'll figure out another solution.

    Well, maybe the compatibility issue appears when BD tries to update itself. Maybe, somehow, BD doesn't update as it should and results an error.


    By the way, after you uninstall NOD32, use the BD uninstall tool to uninstall BitDefender. This way, you can make a 100% clean install.

    and then re installed bitdefender


    but the same problem persists :(:(:(
