Antivirus Plus 2012 Freezes My System

I upgraded from Antivirus 2011 to Antivirus Plus 2012. Now, after an hour or two, my computer freezes up. Keyboard and mouse won't respond, and System Tray clock freezes. The only way to recover is to force a reboot. This issue does not seem to occur if I turn on "Game Mode". I ran Support Tool, and have the resulting zip file.

    While waiting for an answer, I uninstalled Super Anti Spyware, and Spam Bully. It made no difference; the system still freezes unless I run it in Game mode.

    Have you upgraded directly to Bitdefender 2012 or have you used the uninstall tool to remove the older version first?

    I used the uninstall tool to remove the older version first. I then installed the 2012 version.
