A quick update to this, today after 7 days of not updating it updated, I guess when it did a scheduled weekly scan (?) , If that's how its intended to work then fair enough, but I would like it to show after manual scans also if thats possible in a future update0 -

I run BDIS 2012 on 2 pc's, both Windows 7. One of them usually says "Last Update Today", and the other always says "Last Update 28 Days Ago", even thougth I have run both Quick Scan and Full System Scan. The documentation is ambiguous about when/if/ a scan is or should be run.....
Do you need a support tool dump from both systems??0 -
Hi guys

I must be stupid, because others have sent the logs to you, and I can't figure out how. Sendspace needs an email address, and this forum will not allow me to upload the log the tool put on my desktop?
I'll just monitor this string; when you find a solution for one it will proably be the same for others.0 -
I have this same issue. I have read this thread and am running the support tool to create a log as I type this, I will PM you Christian. Thanks for looking into this.

Christian,
I also have this problem. Yes, I have restarted since the scan. I recall this same issue with BD** 2011. The fix there was to turn off UAC and start a scan and check that scheduled scans weren't at a time the PC was turned off.
This wasn't resolved before and still seems to be an issue. Where does BDIS store the last scan date? Is it in the registry or in some database file somewhere that might get deleted by an overzealous garbage file cleaner (like file type *.tmp)?
Thanks,
Leighton0 -
Christian,
Nothing has been fixed with this problem, it should not have been a problem in the first place, it just seems so simple and common sense to not have this be a problem, BD IS 2012 just has too many flaws, it is not worth the $69.95 (way overpriced compared to competitors), and definately not worth the headaches and worries, and wondering if you're BD IS software is really working.
I am going to go back to Norton 360, I have never had any issues with them in the past, very simple IS, which is what me and my family want.0 -

Totally agree with this - I have BD2012 on one machine and have retained BD2011 on the other. The new package is NOT what I am looking for in terms of functionality and is very worryingly lowly placed on the Which? (Consumers Association) tests in the UK, whereas BD2011 was one of the top-rated packages.
I too have the problem of doing a manual (since it still is not possible to programme one) daily scan, and having the front page stating that a scan has not been performed for several days. NOT acceptable.
IMHO this was a very ill-advised update of a successful package, and concerns expressed in these forums, and elsewhere, have not been addressed.
I will not be renewing again. Indeed with 203 days left on my current license I am already looking around at alternatives as I do not think I shall be staying until the end of my license period.0 -
Hello everyone
@ Leighton
Bitdefender settings are stored in XML files. This files are protected and can not be deleted by any temp file cleaner.
@ g-shock & stagedoor
We apologize for any negative experience you have encountered with our products or our support. Your feedback is appreciated, and will be directed to the appropriate team for review, to enable us to improve our support and services.
Our developers are working to fix this and the update should be released soon.
As I previously mentioned, the Real Time Protection is not turned off, is just a minor display issue.
Thank you for understanding. Take care.0 -

After doing a "Full System Scan", I did a warm reboot and it still said the last scan was 3 days ago. I then tried a cold restart and still the same results, last scan 3 days ago. I checked under Events/Antivirus and it said that I had scanned today. Why aren't the same results reflected on the "BDIS Home screen"?
Thanks,

Hello everyone
@ Leighton
There is a miscommunication between the event logger and the main interface(seccenter).
There is no issue related to the protection module or the scanner. It is just a minor display issue that will resolved in the next build that is expected to see the light around January 25.
Let me know if you have other questions. Thank you.0 -

Good luck on waiting! That's what they say but it's not gonna happen. You know all is complaining in here and nothings fixed. I don't have any confidence with this product whatsoever. Do like me uninstall and get a diff product. Eventhough i still have 10 months left in license, i'd write off, get a diff vendor and never look forward to purchase from this vendor again! Maybe in million years, hehe. You don't need headeaches with this software.0 -

It's february and things still not fixed? How many months does this thing came out? Maybe next 10 years to fix all the issue? This sould be a BETA. Way overprice for this software.0 -
I have the same issue, have uninstalled and reinstalled about 5 times now. Still have 142 days left on my license. Update doesn't fully download either e.g Total: 501.2 kB Downloaded 0.7 kB yet when I look on events it says update succeeded. I often wish I could get a refund and perhaps install Norton or Kaperski etc. Please advise when the update is available.

Excellent, Thanks for getting it to us.
It will show to Reboot your PC (Reboot Required) in the Update Events, and after the reboot, will show Update succeed. I also received a pop up of Free Identity Theft Protection?0 -
Hello
We provide free Identity Theft Protection just for US citizens. You can activate the module from My Bitdefender Account.

I have the same problem. There was an update earlier today and I rebooted the computer. The About window shows I am now at version 15.0.36.1530
I then did a quick scan and the last scan is showing 2 days ago, after the scan. I did a custom scan as well and it is still showing 2 days ago as last scan.
Also I notice alerts that my Antivirus Autoscan settings changed in the Events section of the program. Turning on and off. I am not sure if this is due to reboot or it just randomly turned itself on and off because the time differences between the OFF and then ON again event is wide apart.0 -
After updating and rebooting, my version isn't 15.0.36.1530, but 15.0.35.1489.

You may be on the "backside" of the total update.

I'm not on the possible backside anymore, but my version is still 15.0.35.1489, not 15.0.36.1530.
Can someone tell me how that's possible?
Thanks.0
