Hi rickoshea, most of the times, if the file is too large, the email provider would also block this. How big is the file that you're trying to attach?

I have the same problem with gmail, file is of allowed size, but gets blocked as attachement.0 -
Hello
In those attachments, do you have executable files?
Thank you!0 -
Maximum attachment size
With Gmail, you can send and receive messages up to 25 megabytes (MB) in size.
I am attaching .jpg or .pdf files.
It seems that BD block attachements of more than 2 mega.0 -
Hello
What browser do you use? Do you use also another software like those that can use the space provided by Gmail as a backup drive?
Thank you!0 -
I did try with FF 15 beta and IE, same result: cannot attach in gmail allowed files (e.g. pdf) of more than about 2 mega. Files are on C disk -> documents.

They are under 25MB. I didn't have a problem until the new install, and it works when BD is disabled.0 -

No, just pics and music. As I said, if BD is disabled, there are no problems making attachments.0 -

BD is the problem, because when it's disabled, there isn't a problem with an attachment under 25 MB.0 -

There is an executable file on the SimpleSave that allows you to download from whatever you plug it into, but it doesn't automatically do that.0 -

There is an executable file on the SimpleSave so you can download from whatever you plug it into, but it doesn't automatically start.0 -

IE8 and Mozilla Firefox. The SimpleSave holds 1.5 TB, has an executable program on it to download whatever it's plugged into, but it doesn't automatically do that. There are no other Gmail backup programs involved.0 -
I tried another mailer (Zimbra) and attachments work, so it seems to be a problem with gmail.
Anybody has mail accounts different than gmail to try? As I wrote, with gmail it depends (in my case) on file size: files larger than about 2 mega do not attach.0 -
OK, I don't think it is a BD issue!
With IE, I disabled Activex Filtering, and I can attach big files in gmail.
The problem seems connected to IE (15 beta).0 -
I subscribed to Bitdefender Internet Security 2013 on August 11, 2012. As soon as I subscribed, I can no longer open attachments to my email. These are attachments that I was able to open and view just the day before subscribing to Bitdefender. The attachments are Microsoft Word and Excel files.
How can this issue be resolved?0 -
It seems that latest update of FF 15 beta solved the problem of gmail attachments.
Not a BD issue0 -
Hello
I am glad to hear that.
For those that encounter the same issue, please use the latest Beta version released by Mozilla and let me know if the issue is solved:

Thanks all,
With BD 2013 uninstalled I have no problem making direct attachments. The problem started when I upgraded from BD 2011 to BD 2013. I think the problem is there is an executable file on my 1.5 TB externall hard drive that is capable of downloading the entire memory of whatever it's plugged into, and BD views that as a threat. In any event, I was able to get around the problem by copying files from my external hard drive to my desktop, and attaching them to my gmail from there. It's an extra step, but it works.0 -

Hi,
If you still cannot attach files in Gmail accounts, go to Settings/Privacy and turn OFF "Scan SSL".

Hello
A product update was released. Your build should be 16.21.0.1504(please right click on Bitdefender icon from system tray-near the clock-and choose "About". You should see in the left side the build number).
In order for the product update to be installed, you need to reboot your machine(you should see in the Events -> "Reboot required" under the Update module).
Changelog:
