1) What are the ignored items displayed usually at the end of the scan?

2) Why they are treated as failed at the end of the scan?

3) Why they are not listed in the log?

    Hello Omer :)

As I mentioned here, on some systems the Ignored items are tagged as Unresolved and displayed at the end of the scan like in this situation:

    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...st&p=153962

That workaround should temporary solve the issue.

The current situation was reported and it will be fixed in the next product update.

    Take care.

  • You are right, but you didn't answer my queries. I think you have reported the issue that Ignored Issue are falsely displayed as Unresolved Issues while I want that kindly shed light on the Ignored Issues' nature. So ask above queries and now I have more

    1) In what cases the Ignored Issues are different from Unresolved Issues?

    2) What is the difference between Ignored and Excluded Items?

  • I've experienced a similar issue. I get a tone of ignored files. I did what you suggested and turned off auto update permanently; I also deleted all messages about missed updates. I ran the scan again and no ignored files showed up; great :)But I keep getting a window that pops up and it says "Microsoft Windows" settings have been saved; restart now or restart later. The last time I did this my email accounts were hacked from some ip in India. Bit defender is not detecting this malware or whatever it is. I use the boot partition and scan my hard drives; but still bit defender doesn't find anything. I have a raid0 two ssd's read 800mb/s read and before (I just reinstalled windows and all the updates yesterday) I reformatted it was taking programs 30 seconds to load...

  • Hello everyone,

    @Christian,

Upon successful completion of the Full System Scan, appeared to me the following warning:post-105258-1346425432_thumb.jpg

All files belong to BitDefender and are presented as a threat.

I need a assistence for this issue and i'll believe in yours esteemed words, because i really can not run the Full System Scan again with "Auto Update" turned off mode. ;)

Ps: 2h 34 m & scanned near 2 mill. files is for me the real marathon. :)

    Thank you for your understanding.

  • I think the issue can be related to IDS or scanning routine malfunction.

    Hello ONT,

Honestly, I'm not sure what causes that but i know that this is the first time that appeared to me.

Also, it is strange that there are only Bitdefender files.

    Thank you for your reply.

  • I still think that there is not a serious problem about this.

I expect that this will be resolved immediately after the first "Product Update" which should be soon had realised.

Does not make sense that i have fear of Bitdefender ignored files. :)

It was just an idea, as the Bitdefender files are protected by IDS.

Waiting for reply to above said queries.

  • I just completed Full system Scan and result was 996 ignored Bitdefender files. (now I have 5 more than before and this is the only difference :) )

So the situation is the same as before, despite the new build 16.18.0.1407, that was supposed to solve some of the issues who had previously occurred during the Full System Scan.

NOTE: I performed a Full System Scan with Auto Update ON, because I expected it will be all right this time.

  • What does this mean concretely?

Product update ??? You mean too say that this is still beta ? Is this why my computer has been compromised again ? Is this why when go to turn on auto update it refuses ? I cant articulate how completely frustrated I am. I buy anti malware software and it doesn't protect me from malware! facepalm!

Christian; I did respond but I don't think you read my response. Clicking auto update does nothing; it just hangs. I understand it was a fix; and enabling auto update is the next step; but it wont la lala.

Somebody goofed big time that i can see.

  • Product update means the change in the Build, not the stage.

  • Hello everyone :)

I already explained here the current situation:

    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry153962

The issue with ignored items will be resolved when the build 16.20.****** will be launched.

The new build should "land" next week via product update and should solve most of the reported issues. It is considered a major update and should have around 20 MB.

Thank you in advance for your patience.

    Have a wonderful day!

  • Ok, I understand, but would you like to tell us that what actually the Ignored Items are? How do you define them? And you are also requested to reply above asked queries.

Thank goodness the server maintence issue is resolved, to make this download less of an issue than last weeks updates :)

    Hello Christian,

Yesterday I performed a successful Full System Scan with the new build 16.20.0.1483 and all was fine, without any kind of ignored items.

NOTE: I set "Auto Update" to ON.

    Best regards.

  • Hello :)

I will wait for others to confirm if this is resolved.

    Have a great week!

In this topic I am just asking about what actually the Ignored Items are? And I've no concern why the Ignored Items are tagged as Unresolved Items at the end of the scan in this topic. The bugs about the Ignored Items are discussed here in the topic Scan Task Odd Details. So you are requested to reply my queries about Ignored Items just like you replied for Skipped Items.

  • Any reply?

  • Hello :)

The issue was resolved in 16.21.

    Thank you!

  • Why you are ignoring my queries intentionally?

  • I'll really appreciate if someone from the Technical Support can reply to above asked all the queries.

    Hello :)

Ignored items are encrypted files or missing files at the end of the scan.

In the situation reported in this topic, those files were flagged as ignored but they were present in the system.

This was resolved in build 16.21.****** and all the elements are scanned and displayed properly in the scan log.

    Take care.
