Try this one by one.
1) Update Bitdefender and reboot system.
2) Disable Antivirus status from Configure Alert Status option, enable On-Access Scan manually and then re-enable Antivirus status from Configure Alert Status option.
3) Repair Bitdefender.0 -

Good News On-Access Scanner Victims!
I had this same problem. It made me mad as ###### " /> and crazy . I emailed BitDefender and raised ###### with them for allowing something like this to happen and go on for so long. I also gave them ######
about not giving us a contact phone number so that we may call them for help. I told them that for as much as they charge for them product, we should be treated better than this. Anyway, while raising ###### with
them, I remembered that I had a program called Revo Uninstaller Pro. While in the process of uninstalling BitDefender Total Security 2013, a feature popped up giving me a choice of repairing BitDefender as well
as removing it. I clicked the repair feature. That fixed the on-access scanner problem right away. I was happy that I didn't have to deal with that two-step Control Panel uninstaller and then come back and use the
BitDefender Uninstall Tool. That's an aggravating nuisance.Of course, we still have to put up with that old-school reboot step. However, the virus definitition updated and the on-access scanner works like
it's suppose to now.
I suggest purchasing the Revo Uninstaller Program: http://www.revouninstaller.com/
It's good for a lot of things. If you have software that didn't give you an uninstaller, Revo Uninstaller will scan your computer until it finds every related file that belongs to it.
By the way, BitDefender People, is there any particular reason why this reply window doesn't have a word wrap? You people are unbelievable! How can this be made to work? I have not tried to reinstall - would like to avoid that hassle. Running Vista SP2 64bit. Thanks for any advice you can offer.0
