Bitdefender Vs Pc Power Options (plan) Settings!
Just wanted to share my experience.
1. My PC kept changing my power options (power plan) settings from "Monitor - Never Sleep" to "Monitor - 15 Minutes"
2. I searched the net and a lot of complaints about this but nothing would work. I did everything - reset settings, saved, created a new scheme, etc.
3. I remembered - I didn't have this problem until I upgraded from BitDefender 2014 to 2015.
3. I noticed that I was running (BitDefender) on AUTO and noticed it was in GAME Mode (have no games - tooooo old for that stuff!). Now, I don't remember if I always ran in AUTO...
4. I changed setting to STANDARD - guess what? Yuppa - my Power Settings now hold "Monitor - Never Sleep"
It might just be a coincidence - but figured I would share it with the community.
And no - I didn't change it back to AUTO to see if the problem surfaced again - I don't want to risk it!

Hiya vpnavy,
It does seem that some users are having various problems with the Profile settings, I had it where the profile was changing to "Game" whenever I loaded my browser, it was also turning off the Windows auto update and giving a warning pop-up. The problem was sorted just by leaving it in Autopilot but turning off the "Let Autopilot manage my profiles" (in the GUI>Tools>Profiles section). It now stays on the Standard profile.

Thanks for the information. I will be honest with you - I spent over two weeks trying everything but running around the neighborhood ****** to get it to stop changing my Power Settings. Right now - I am scared to death to try your suggestion (GUI>Tools>Profiles...). " />0 -
there is a way you can use the profile settings and not put the pc to sleep
if you go to the profile settings you must to the settings for game and movie
there you must take the v from the last line with the powerplan in it and then your pc won't go to sleep every time
i had the same problem for 1 week until i found that settings was the couse of my problem
now i am stil using the profile settings0 -
The fact that it goes into Game Mode any time a browser is open seems like either a bug (the bespoke assumption anytime software doesn't perform as expected), or what on the surface seems like a rather odd design decision, given that browsers are usually open most of the time that people are actually NOT playing games (most of the gamers I know close everything but the game when they are gaming). Aside from power plan control, etc., your machine will probably perform better in Game Mode anyway. I guess the question is what (if any) compromises in malware protection (ex. less timely signature updates) are used in Game Mode, especially given that a lot of malware infects machines through browsers.
