New Update Issue
Hello new BD update 18.21.0.1497 caused vsserv.exe to crash....I tried restarting pc 5 or 6 times....sometimes the restart brings up Bitdefender Report Wizard which then restarts BD security service....It'll be okay for some time then again the service stop responding....It immediately happened after i restart pc for the update ( yes I have postpone reboot unchecked)
Anyone else having issue?

Hiya,
My win 8.1 desktop updated earlier today, no problems seen and it has been running for the last 8 hours. I have just checked and updated my Win 7 machine and all went smoothly. So, maybe something has corrupted during the update download for you, I suggest you run a repair - Control Panel>Programs and Features>Bitdefender 2015 - double click it and choose Repair. Allow it to complete and reboot your computer.
If you still have problems, please post back.

I'm seeing the same problem on three Win 7 PC's since the update. Crash, reboot. Crash reboot. It's becoming quite unusable. I've done a repair, but the problem persists.
Fix it fast!
Thanks,

No problems here. Windows 8.1 64 bits

Bitdefender services are not responding
The error may be caused by one of the following conditions:
an important update is being installed.
temporary communication errors between the Bitdefender services.
some of the Bitdefender services are stopped.
other security solutions running on your computer at the same time with Bitdefender.
To troubleshoot this error, try these solutions:
Wait a few moments and see if anything changes. The error may be temporary.
Restart the computer and wait a few moments until Bitdefender is loaded. Open Bitdefender to see if the error persists. Restarting the computer might solve the problem.
Check if you have any other security solution installed as they may disrupt the normal operation of Bitdefender. If this is the case, we recommend you to remove all of the other security solutions and then reinstall Bitdefender. In order to correctly uninstall them, please use the uninstall tools for the other security solutions; you can find them in our article here.
If the error persists, please generate a support tool log and send it to our support department. You can find in our article the steps on how to generate a support tool log.

I have the same symptoms - services not responding etc - on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. I did a repair and the problem seemed to be fixed for a few minutes but then reappeared.
1) Has the repair definitively worked for anyone else?
2) Does a reinstall do anything extra to what a repair does? Is it worth trying that?0 -
Yep, second day, crashes again and again. What happened, soon i must change security system because i cannot use internet without protect.
Win 7 64bit(two computers have similar problem).0 -

Win7SP1 x64
Same problem. I have a feeling it has to do with Windows updates since they occurred around about the time it stopped working.
Specifically these ones:

1) Encountered the same issue for my Windows 7 HP SP1 system but not Windows 7 SP1 32Bit system.
2) The error was listed in the Event Logs as "The Bitdefender Virus Sheild Service has terminated unexpectedly.
It has done this x time(s).".
3) The error started after an update with a reboot on 10Feb2015. Presumably, the update is related to:
http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...st&p=228150
4) The error started before running Windows Update for Feb 2015 Patch Tuesday.
5) Tried Repair, Uninstall & Reinstall with both BD IS 2015 & BD TS 2015, but the error recurred after running
Update & reboot.
6) Tried uninstalling Microsoft's EMET 5.1 and secondary on-demand scanners e.g Malwarebytes AntiMalware & Hitman Pro 3.7.236
but the the error continues.
7) Finally, disabled all protection of Zemana Antilogger eventhough exclusion already made for Antilogger within BD 2015.
So far no recurring error. Keeping fingers cross.
8) Can anyone verify these findings?0 -

I don't have any other security solutions installed.... BDIS has been working fine until it got updated to latest patch nd prompted me to restart......yes i rem I updated BDIS 2015 before windows updates were installed......So I dnt think so it has anything to do with Win updates.....
Anyway I uninstalled BDIS with uninstall tool...cleaned registry and remnants using Ccleaner and going through folders myself......Re installed BDIS 2015 throgh an offline installer downloaded from this forum ..... It was working fine ( yes I tried with offline installer to isolate the issue regarding latest BD patch) and then I updated the program....
and there we go Same Error after restart....... Is there a way to only update virus signatures but not the program ? Ill be more than happy with the patch offline installer installs without checking for a new one than getting this error every 10-15 mnts and on every restart.....or if theres a way to revert back to the just previous version .... (18.20.0.1429)
This is a very lengthy process going through every possible solution but to no luck.......I hope Georgia will consider taking a look into this SERIOUS problem0 -
Update:
9) I am afraid the error has returned.
10) The issue seems isolated to Windows 7 64Bit system and not 32bit system.
Wondering also whether anyway BD 2015 can be reverted back to the previous build (i.e 18.20.0.1429) for those Windows 7 64Bit systems with these recurring errors while things are sorted out??0 -

It's obvious from the replies this is a Win 7 64 issue. I am having the same issue, just started a few days ago. Please fix.

No it's not.
Hiya,
It does seem that the only reports were from Win 7 users although not everyone was effected by it, you weren't nor was I. I didn't see any users of Win 8/8.1 complaining.

I can confirm that the update suggested by Rohugh has worked for me - SO FAR. I will only write to this forum if
BD falls apart again.
After the update I am running BDIS2015 18.21.0.14970 -
Update:
11) Tried update but didn't see any patch. Reinstalled BD 2015 instead and all went smoothly.
Guess the issue is now fixed.0
