I think I might be missing something obvious! I am trying to have files in vault so that they can't be opened without a password - is that the purpose of the file vault? I've tried following the steps in the instructions for a file vault and I can create one and add files to it. But then the original files are still there and can be opened (without a password) even when I lock the vault. Should I be deleting the files? Or am I missing something obvious?


I appreciate any and all help!

    Hiya crystalj,


    Files stored in the vault are secure and only available to you with your password. However, the original files you transferred there from your hard drive are still there and, of course, easily available to anyone accessing your computer so you should delete them. Oh, and don't forget your password. :)
