Why Does Spybot Have To Be Uninstalled

Downloaded the 30 day trial with a view to purchasing Antivirus 2016 plus

During installation Bitdefender uninstalled the Bitdefender free version - fine - and Spywareblaster -ok can live with that - but then it wanted to uninstall Spybot S&D a trusted progam I've used forever it is not set to give real time protection and the antivirus feature is turned off so why does Bitdefender want to unistall it?

The free version lives happily with bith of these ? And if I had carried on would it want to remove Malwarebytes and Superantispyware?

I stopped the installation until I have resolved this

Thanks

Paul

  • Hello Paul,

Running multiple security solutions on the same PC may affect their proper functionality as they compete for access to the same system resources.

Even if they are turned off, there are some active processes running in the background.

We recommend you to uninstall other security solutions in order for Bitdefender to work properly, otherwise we can't guarantee the full functionality of Bitdefender.
